JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-OPEN ACCESS GLOBAL JOURNAL OF PHARMACY & PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES Most of the studies reveal the inference of oxidative stress in diabetes pathogenesis by the alteration in enzymatic systems, lipid peroxidation, impaired Glutathione metabolism and decreased Vitamin C levels. By seeing the significance of Amylase & Lipase inhibitory effects and antioxidant effects in reducing the burden of Diabetes, herewith aimed to synthesize oxazolines and to screen for Amylase & Lipase inhibitory effects and antioxidant effects. Twenty five Oxazoline derivatives are prepared, characterized and screened for the anti oxidant, lipase and amylase inhibitory activity. Out of 25 synthesized compounds seven compounds shows significant amylase inhibitory activity, twelve compounds shows significant antioxidant and lipase inhibitory activity. Dimethoxyl group, halogen or nitro group at para position and dimethyl amino substitution enhance amylase inhibitory e

Effects of Work Content and Work Context on Job Motivation of Hospital Pharmacists-Juniper Publishers

JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-OPEN ACCESS GLOBAL JOURNAL OF PHARMACY & PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES The behavior of employees is influenced by the environment in which they find themselves and dissatisfaction associated with bad working conditions account for employees’ new job searches and actual separations. The objectives of this study were to examine the relationship between work content and motivation, on one hand, and work context and motivation, on the other hand, of hospital pharmacists in Osun state of Nigeria. Eighty seven out of 110 practicing pharmacists in secondary and tertiary hospitals in Osun State were selected randomly. They were then interviewed with the aid of a set of pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire that comprised two sections. The main section employed thirty three items made of statements on a Likert-type scale to elicit information on the relationship between work content, work context and motivation of the respondents. Descriptive statistics

Development and Validation of UV Spectrophotom- etric Method for Simultaneous Estimation of Omeprazole and Domperidone in Capsule Dosage forms-Juniper publishers

JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-OPEN ACCESS GLOBAL JOURNAL OF PHARMACY & PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES A simple, precise, rapid and accurate UV Spectrophotometric method has been developed and validated for the simultaneous estimation of Omeprazole (OMP) and Domperidone (DOM) in combined pharmaceutical dosage forms. The method was developed by using methanol as a solvent. Omeprazole exhibits absorption maximum at 301 nm and Domperidone shows absorption maximum at 287.2 nm in methanol. The developed method was obeyed Beer Lambert’s law in the concentration range of 2-12 μg/mL for both OMP and DOM. The accuracy of method was confirmed by recovery studies from capsules at three different levels of standard additions. %RSD values below 2 for intra-day and inter-day precision indicates that the proposed method is highly reproducible. The results of study demonstrated that the proposed method can be applied to formulation and for routine analysis. Keywords: Omeprazole; Domperidone; Esti

Medicinal and Nutritional Values of Macrotyloma uniflorum (Lam.) Verdc (Kulattha): A Conceptual Study-Juniper publishers

JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-OPEN ACCESS GLOBAL JOURNAL OF PHARMACY & PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES Macrotyloma uniflorum (Lam.) Verdc commonly known as horse gram is a kind of legume of tropics and subtropics. Its medicinal uses are known to Ayurveda and Sri Lankan traditional physicians for centuries. Present study was undertaken to collect data on medicinal uses and nutritional values of M. uniflorum . Ayurveda pharmacodynamic properties of M. uniflorum are Kashaya Rasa, Laghu, Ruksha, Tikshna Guna, Ushna Veerya and Katu Vipaka. Various medicinal preparations such as Dhanyamla and decoctions are prepared using seeds of M. uniflorum. It is mainly used as a tonic, astringent, diuretic and also recommended in rheumatism, neuralgia and other several diseases. Horse gram seeds are rich in natural phenols; mostly phenolic acids, flavonoids and the major anti-oxidants. Horse gram is considered as animal fodder and its full potential as a part of human diet has not been exploited
